Dental implant procedures
This section will help you learn about the various dental implant procedures available to you. This includes single and multiple implants as well as bone grafting and implant retained dentures. And not forgetting the All-on-4 procedure which is a highly effective and technically advanced form of treatment for replacing a full arch of teeth.
What is the implant process?
There are two options: the immediate loading procedure where the implant and replacement crown are fitted in the same session. The other option is the delayed loading procedure where the implant is inserted in one session and then left for a few months (3 – 6) to fuse with the jaw. You then return to the surgery for the fitting of the crowns.
These are discussed in more detail within this section. Any questions about preparing for surgery, the procedure, costs and aftercare will be discussed between you and your implant dentist.
This section looks at the following procedures which are arranged as subsections and include:
- All-on-4 procedure
- Immediate loading implant
- Delayed loading implant
- Bone grafting
- Single dental implant
- Multiple dental implants
- Zygomatic dental implants
- Implant retained dentures
Do you need more than one implant? What is ‘immediate loading?’ Why would I need a bone graft? What are zygomatic implants? The answers to these and other questions about implant procedures are contained in this section.
